I watched revolutionary road, and found it really haunting- it really disturbed me!!!
I was uncomfortable mostly because I could see so much of myself in Kate Winslet. She was looking for some meaning and fufilment out of her life, something more than the everyday drudgery that seemed to exist for her and her husband.
She was naive, yes, but I understand the emotions behind this yearning, and feel it myself. This is why I'm in Korea.
Her unhappiness and dissatisfaction is the 'working-class hero' syndrome many of us contend with. I guess the big decision is: do we give in to it, or try to move beyond it in a realistic, healthy manner?
